2009 OFFICIAL ROSTER RULE

 

The proposed roster rule was introduced about a month ago via a West Coast Wiffle Report.  Since the end of last season FP received email requests to examine the roster rules and make changes to help regions grow, prevent "super" teams, embody uniformity, and equal the playing field.  I decided to put the idea out amongst players to get a good feel of things and even took the side of arguing for changes (since most players chose to remain silent on controversial subjects).

 

For the first two weeks following the proposal I received about 25 emails condoning the change and then, once word spread all those that opposed the change.  To date, I've still heard from more players approving of the change rather than opposing.   

 

Reasons for both change and no change vary.  However, I feel that more of the NO CHANGE votes make better sense for Fast Plastic.  The ability to allow teams to govern themselves in game-to-game situations is key.   

 

Fast Plastic will NOT change its roster rule for the 2009 season.

But not all roster rules will go unchanged.  The Split Squad rule is under the microscope and is expected to be revised as well as implementing a player transaction process.  More information on these two topics will be made available at the end of the 2008 FP Season.
